Introduction: Amiodarone a potent antiarrhythmic medication induces thyroid dysfunction in about 20% of patients. Amiodarone-induced hypothyroidism (AIH) usually occurs early in the course of treatment, more often in iodine-sufficient areas, in women, and in the presence of thyroid autoantibodies.
